We offer skip hire services for business and home use. We have skips from mini to large skips.

Docwra & Son provide total business solutions for a variety of industries to suit all commercial and domestic applications we can advise you on any legal requirements regarding skips being sited on the road.

We also offer a wide range of skip services for a variety of applications including a FREE collection service for domestic appliances, washing machines, tumble driers, cookers, etc and a FREE skip for metals

Scrap Metal Skip Hire is a key part of our service is the collection and disposal of ferros metals and Non ferrous metals and other Metals from your premises.

We can provide a full range of skip sizes to meet your requirements.

These can be collected upon a regular weekly schedule, or as and when you have filled the containers.

Are you trying to decide what size skip to hire? If in doubt, we recommend that you choose a larger size skip than you think you might need.

The different skip sizes are also commonly known as "2-yarders", "6-yarders" etc, reflecting their cubic capacity. If you are unsure what size skip you need for the job give us a call.

Mini Skip Hire ("1-2-yarder")

Mini skips. They measure 2' 6" (0.76m) high, 5' (1.52m) long and 4' wide (1.22m).

Midi Skip ('3-4-yarder')

Midi Skip Hire ("3-4-yarder")

Midi skips measure 3' 2" (0.97m) high, 6' (1.83m) long and 4' 3"wide (1.29m).

Builders Skip ('6-8-yarder')

Large Skip ("6-8-yarder")

Our most popular skip, the large skip measure 4' (1.22m) high, 12' (3.66m) long and 5' 6" wide (1.68m).


Ferrous Metals

CYLINDER CAST		Oil Free New Production or Burnt Cylinder Block Scrap, low phosphorus scrap iron. Cylinder block heads and stripped gear boxes may be included if oil free and all steel, alloy and non-ferrous components are removed. Should be predominately made up of brake drums / discs.
ENGINES WHOLE		Complete car and light commercial engines.
ENGINES (INCOMPLETE)		Engine bodies / heads stripped or partly stripped.
NEW LIGHT STEEL CUTTINGS		Loose Light Steel Cuttings, suitable for pressing. May include an agreed proportion of coated material, but excluding tin coated, terne coated and enameled scrap.
OA		Plate and Structural Scrap, consisting of cut structural and plate scrap predominately 6mm thick in sizes not exceeding 1.50m x 0.60m x 0.60m (or as otherwise agreed) prepared in a manner to ensure compact charging. May include properly prepared wagon scrap less than 6mm thick. Excludes tube and hollow section. (4'6" x 1'6" x 1'6" MIN QTR INCH THICK)
HEAVY CAST		Heavy Cast iron Scrap, not less than 13mm thick, in works furnace sizes, free from burnt metal.
L/M CAST		Light Cast iron Scrap, in works furnaces sizes, free from burnt metal.
NO 1 STEEL		Old Steel Scrap, predominately 6mm thick, in sizes not exceeding 1.50m x 0.60m x 0.60m (or as otherwise agreed) prepared in a manner to ensure compact charging. May include tube and hollow section, wire rope properly prepared by agreement with consumer, properly prepared scrap from heavy commercial vehicles including wheels, but excluding body scrap and wheels from light vehicles. (3' x 1' x 1' MIN QTR INCH THICK)
NO 2 STEEL		Old Steel Scrap, predominately 3mm thick, in sizes not exceeding 1m x 0.60m x 0.60m (or as otherwise agreed) prepared in the manner to ensure compact charging. May include properly prepared scrap from dismantled vehicles including light vehicle wheels, but must exclude vehicle body scrap and also domestic appliances. (4'6" x 1'6" x 1'6" MIN EIGHT INCH THICK)
O/S OA		UP TO 7 TONS SINGLE LIFT
O/S NO 2 STEEL		UP TO 7 TONS SINGLE LIFT
TURNINGS		Heavy carbon Steel turnings, the majority crushed or naturally short, but with up to 20% bushy content permissible (by volume as determined by visual examination) not shovellable, free from non ferrous metals, scale, grinding dust, heavily oxidized turnings or other materials from chemical industries, and free from excessive oil.
LIGHT IRON AND CARS		Loose Old Light Steel Scrap. May consist of motor cars, white goods and old light iron and steel scrap. Must not include heavy iron and steel scrap, wire ropes, wire, sealed containers, fuel tanks, dangerous, inflammable, toxic or tin coated materials and must not include loose or free dirt or types.

Non-Ferrous Metals

DRY BRIGHT WHITE		Stripped copper cable not burnt or flared and without tinned ends. Not greasy.
GREASY BRIGHT		As above but with the Vaseline type coating.
HEAVY COPPER		Predominately made up of copper piping including painted and yorkshire fittings, i.e. 98% copper.
NO 2 COPPER		Burnt and lacquered wire.
BRAZIERY		Mixed copper and brass appliances. Brass content no more than 30%.
COPPER TANKS		Household hot water cylinders. Free of lagging and lime scale.
COMPO		Copper and brass car radiators free of steel.
BRASS		All brass objects including plumbers brass, free from steel, lead and soldier joints.
GUNMETAL		Clean commercial gunmetal free from iron and brass fittings.
LEAD		Soft lead free bitumen and steel. Not to include battery plates.
BATTERIES		Wet or dry car and commercial.
ALUMINIUM		All grades to be totally free from steel and maximum size of 1.8m x 1.2m.
ALUMINIUM TURNINGS		Free from steel and other metals. Maximum moisture content 10%.
PYRO		Covered and cleaned.
STAINLESS STEEL		Free from steel. Maximum size 1.5m x 0.60m.
RESMELT		Irony alluminium, to exclude carburetors and zinc based alloys.
ZINC		Clean commercial zinc free of steel.
ELEMENTS		Copper elements free from brass. Nickel elements not included under this grade.
HOUSEHOLD WIRE		Electrical household cable pvc or rubber covered but not including armoured cable which will be treated separately.
